Last week, the flagship OnePlus 12R, released in the American and European markets, came into the spotlight due to a recall process. OnePlus announced that they will refund the 256 GB version of the 12R model.
OnePlus President Kinder Liu confirmed that despite using UFS 3.1 technology in the new model, they used the UFS 4.0 designation in their announcements. The company will grant users the right to a refund due to deceptive advertising in the OnePlus 12R model.
Regarding the issue, the company stated, “If you have purchased the OnePlus 12R 256 GB variant and would like to discuss the situation with the file system type on your phone, please contact Customer Service through your usual channel. They can discuss the next steps with you, including refunds, until March 16, 2024. We still believe that the OnePlus 12R will meet your high expectations for our devices and that you will love it when you try it. However, we also hope that our swift action demonstrates our commitment to you and our community and helps regain your trust in us.”
Users who purchased the 256 GB OnePlus 12R can contact OnePlus Customer Service to apply for a refund. It’s worth noting that the refund process is valid until March 16th.
