OnePlus has achieved a significant milestone in its software interface with OxygenOS 16, announced with the slogan “Intelligently Yours.” The new version isn’t just a visual overhaul; it also promises deep Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration, a brand new organizational system, and a seamless cross-device experience. Here are the details.
OxygenOS 16 Comes with Many Innovations
At the heart of OxygenOS 16 is Plus Mind, a personal intelligence engine that organizes all your content. This feature is part of the Mind Space system, which centralizes screenshots, notes, reminders, and images.

Mind Space, instantly accessible with a three-finger swipe up on supported devices, can be launched much more easily with a single button, especially on models equipped with Plus Key hardware like the OnePlus 13s.
Plus Mind is more than just a simple folder; it works context-sensitively. For example, when you take a screenshot of an event banner, it can automatically suggest adding it to your calendar. All web pages can be easily cropped, and long, scrolling screenshots are automatically saved and neatly stored in Mind Space.
Gemini now works directly with the content you save in Mind Space, offering personalized suggestions. Ask Gemini to plan a room layout using your saved decor images, and the AI can generate ideas for you. This tight integration makes Gemini more of an AI assistant, personalized to your habits, rather than a general assistant.
OnePlus isn’t limiting AI to just organization; OxygenOS 16 has added several new tools that simplify daily tasks:
- AI Writer: Automatically generates charts, headlines, and summaries.
- AI Scan: Turns the camera into a smart scanner for documents and whiteboards.
- Photo Enhancements: Instantly make photos more striking with AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot.
- Creative Lab: AI PlayLab offers experimental tools like text-to-image and image-to-video, giving users early access to creative AI features.
OxygenOS 16 improves performance with Parallel Processing 2.0, which makes interface actions smoother. It also offers a more visually elegant appearance:
- Flux Theme 2.0: Features animated wallpapers and adaptive depth effects that respond to touch.
- Fluid Cloud: Live updates from apps like Spotify or package deliveries are delivered directly to the home screen.
- Revamped Interface: Rounded edges, Gaussian blur, and translucent layers add a refined touch to the overall design.
The new version supports seamless file sharing with Windows and Mac. Furthermore, enhanced syncing capabilities with iPhone and Apple Watch significantly improve inter-device connectivity.
The tablet experience has been optimized with scalable icons, an expanded dock, and improved multitasking features. Users can now control their PCs from their tablets and transfer files using drag and drop.
With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus introduces Private Computing Cloud, which it describes as Android’s first full-chain security solution. This system protects sensitive data at the CPU/GPU level while safeguarding user privacy.
The open beta for OxygenOS 16 began on October 17th. The OnePlus 15 will ship with this version out of the box. The first flagship and tablet models expected to receive the update in November 2025 are:
- OnePlus 13, 13R, 13s
- OnePlus Open
- OnePlus 12, 12R
- OnePlus Pad 3, Pad 2
More models are expected to receive this major update in the coming months.
