Although there are no official details about OnePlus’ first foldable phone, rumors and leaks keep revealing about the device. The latest rumors are about the expected specs and price of the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus Open as recently leaked. While the company hasn’t explained the name of the upcoming phone, it is expected to hold the launch event in August in New York. Here are the details about the OnePlus Fold / Open…
OnePlus Fold will likely be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
One of the most significant details about the phone is its chipset. According to the rumored specs, the upcoming foldable device will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and it will be available in up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage options. When we look at the leaked renders, the OnePlus Fold seems to share a similar design to the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Vivo X Fold2 with its tall cover display and a larger inner panel.
As we know, OnePlus launches China-exclusive phone models, and it will likely be the same for its foldable. The leaked renders of the OnePlus Fold look like the leaked schematic of the expected Oppo Find N3. However, the new Fold or Open model will be unveiled internationally.
On the display, the Fold will feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, while it will feature a 7.8-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for the inner display. Furthermore, the phone will have a 4,800mAh battery with 67W charging support, and it will run OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box.
While there are no certain leaks or official information about the pricing and availability, we can say that its price will be in the $1,500-$1,800 range just like the other foldable devices. The OnePlus Fold will likely be available in the US and Europe at first.
