Open world survival game Terminator: Survivors has been delayed despite the huge interest in the Terminator universe. Actually, not despite, but exactly for this reason. The game, which was originally planned to be released with early access in October 2024, was postponed by developer Nacon to continue the development process in order to do a solid job for those who are eagerly waiting for the game.
Terminator game Survivors release date postponed to 2025
Nacon says it has been hugely impressed by the enthusiasm and excitement fans have shown for the Terminator game. However, the studio says it needs more time to make the game worthy of the Terminator universe and fan expectations. “We want to do right by this universe, its fans and our community,” the announcement said.
The game will take place in 2009, a few years after Judgment Day. Set in a time period limited to the events of the first two films in the Terminator franchise, the game will feature familiar characters as well as completely new faces. Although a trailer has been released, no gameplay footage has been presented yet.
However, the game will mainly feature open-world survival elements and will include features such as base-building and battling other hostile machines, including the Terminator.
Following the delay, Terminator: Survivors will be available on Steam Early Access sometime in 2025. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will be released after the early access process is complete. However, there is currently no information on how long this process will take.
