OpenAI is preparing to sign a strategic partnership with Samsung in order to shake Google’s dominance. According to the latest news, the company is working to integrate ChatGPT into Samsung Galaxy models. This will offer ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence capabilities to millions of Samsung users. Thus, it will rival Google Assistant.
OpenAI challenges Google in AI race with Samsung
The claims that OpenAI is in talks with Samsung come on the heels of rumours that the company is seeking a similar collaboration with Apple. The company, which integrates ChatGPT features into the Apple Intelligence system, wants to take a similar step with Samsung.
OpenAI, which targets Google’s leadership in the field of artificial intelligence, aims to heat up the competition by having a presence on different platforms. Google is not indifferent to this challenge. The company, which strengthens its search engine with artificial intelligence, develops Gemini and advances voice and visual search features, wants to create its own space in the artificial intelligence race.
OpenAI’s possible co-operation with Samsung will also enable the company to expand its product range. With a new feature called Operator, the company will enable users to perform operations such as booking airline tickets or writing code directly from their computers, and may increase its influence in the artificial intelligence market.
Samsung refrained from making an official statement on this issue. However, it had previously said that they ‘promote an open ecosystem and are open to co-operation with all partners’. This vague statement also strengthens speculation that an agreement with OpenAI may be imminent.
Samsung’s long-standing relationship with Google and its joint projects could complicate this potential partnership. Samsung, which is developing augmented reality glasses with Qualcomm and Google, will have to strike a delicate balance in artificial intelligence.
