Oppo and Hasselblad announced today that another agreement has been signed to co-develop new HyperTone Camera Systems for 2024 phones. This is not the first collaboration between the two brands, so the announcement comes as no surprise to tech enthusiasts.
Oppo and Hasselblad to produce HyperTone cameras
According to Oppo, the HyperTone Camera System uses AI RAW fusion to improve sharpness by 30 percent and reduce noise by 60 percent. However, the new algorithm requires 400 percent more computing power after post-processing to provide users with cleaner and clearer details.
In addition, the Chinese company says that one of the HyperTone Camera System’s ProXDR technology can unlock eight times more dynamic range on screen, making photos much more realistic to view. Oppo confirmed that it is working hard to make ProXDR compatible with the Ultra HDR standard.
One of the main features of Oppo’s cameras is the Hasselblad Portrait Mode. Thanks to another component of the HyperTone Camera System called the HyperTone Engine, this mode creates 3D portraits that soften light and shadow, preventing the face from being too much lit. Hasselblad Portrait Mode also promises to deliver more accurate skin tones and cinematic bokeh effects.
All of the above camera features will be further enhanced by the new Oppo and Hasselblad venture partnership, with the first results being built into future Find series flagships expected to arrive in 2024.
The last notable model from this partnership was the OPPO Find N3. Combining a wide-angle camera with OIS powered by Sony’s new 48-megapixel LYTIA-T808 1/1.43-inch sensor, a 48-megapixel 1/2-inch ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel 1/2-inch telephoto camera with OIS offering 3x optical zoom, the phone attracted a lot of attention.
