Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi has announced improvements for the upcoming PC version of the game. Hamaguchi stated that the PC version focuses on improving character and background modelling as well as textures. Especially players with high-end PCs will see significant improvements compared to PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro versions. Here are the details!
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will offer more realistic lighting
‘We’ve completely revamped Final Fantasy VIII Rebirth’s lighting processes,‘ Hamaguchi said in a recent interview, explaining that everything from the characters’ on-screen expressions to their overall visual presentation has been significantly improved over the PS5 version. The innovations are especially focused on lighting effects and rendering. In this way, PC players will experience a smoother and more impressive game experience.
Square Enix has announced more customisation options for the PC version of Final Fantasy. Players will be able to increase the intensity of visuals using Level of Detail (LoD) settings for background models and MIP maps for textures. Improvements such as enhanced shadow techniques and higher quality hair shadows are also notable.
Thanks to the NVIDIA DLSS support in the PC version, the game will be able to run at up to 120 frames per second on high-performance systems. In addition, the game’s lighting system clearly stands out in the comparisons made. A new Versatility mode is also available for the PS5 Pro version. This setting provides sharper and clearer visuals using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology.
