Until Dawn with Unreal Engine 5 coming to PC and PS5
A while ago, leaks revealed that Supermassive Games was working on a PlayStation 5 and PC version of Until Dawn. At State of Play 2024, a trailer was released confirming these leaks. The 1.5-minute cinematic trailer was intriguing with its horror elements.
While the original game was developed by Supermassive Games, the PC and PS5 version will be produced by Ballistic Moon. The horror game will be built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5 and will feature a third-person camera.
Ballistic Moon stated that the third-person camera will allow players to explore Blackwood Mountain in much more detail. The remake will feature a soundtrack by Mark Korven.
The development team will stick to the story of eight heroes struggling to survive. However, the game will feature much improved character animations. He said that “unexplored emotional parts of the story” will be added.
The PlayStation 5 and PC version of Until Dawn will be released in 2024, but no exact date has been given. Sony Pictures is also developing a movie adaptation to be written and directed by Gary Dauberman, Blair Butler and David F. Sandberg.
