Samsung is stirring up the anticipation ahead of its anticipated Unpacked event, scheduled for the upcoming month. In a surprising move, Samsung just revealed its latest offering to the Pokemon fandom, special edition Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro earbuds, themed after the beloved franchise.
A nod to the Pokemon universe
Drawing from the positive response to their previous launch of the Poke Ball Galaxy Buds in May, Samsung decided to once again embrace the Pokemon frenzy. This new launch aims to indulge Pokemon aficionados with another opportunity to sport earbuds that pay homage to their cherished game.
The newly unveiled Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro are accompanied by Pokemon-themed cases featuring iconic characters like Ditto, Jigglypuff, and Snorlax. Each retail package is adorned with a variety of Pokemon stickers, adding to the theme’s appeal.
Availability and pricing details
However, there’s a slight caveat. Initially, these uniquely themed earbuds will only hit the market in South Korea. Starting from June 27, local fans can get their hands on the new Pokemon-themed Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro, priced at 129,000 won ($100) and 199,000 won ($155), respectively.
High hopes from the market
Samsung anticipates a sweeping response from the market, expressing that these limited-edition Pokemon earbuds hold a greater appeal than their previous offering. Judging by the previous model’s swift sales, these new additions are likely to disappear from the shelves within hours. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation yet about their availability in other markets, but Samsung hasn’t entirely ruled out the possibility.
