Amazon Prime Video, which made a splash with the Fallout series, continues its push into video game adaptations. The company’s latest project is bringing Wolfenstein, one of the world’s most established franchises, to the screen. While the series has not yet reached official approval, Amazon is reportedly considering the project among its top priorities.
Wolfenstein will be a series
The Wolfenstein series is directed by Patrick Somerville, who previously produced notable projects such as Station Eleven and Maniac. Kilter Films, which also produced the Fallout series, is producing. Kilter Films founders Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are also producing the new series. This team is also known for their creative work on Westworld.

Wolfenstein takes place in an alternate universe where the Nazis won World War II. In this dystopian world dominated by a totalitarian regime, resistance fighters fight against the Nazi army. However, this struggle is not limited to classic war dynamics.
Supernatural creatures, mechanical soldiers, and high-tech weapons developed by the Nazis are among the elements that changed the course of the war. In this respect, the series not only takes a political stand but also incorporates elements of science fiction and horror.
The Wolfenstein franchise first entered the gaming world in 1981. Over time, the series has evolved, shifting towards different narrative styles. Wolfenstein: The New Order, released in 2014, particularly attracted attention with its more cinematic and story-driven structure. It is anticipated that the new series will draw on the narrative structure of this era.
Amazon is also known to be working on other major gaming franchises recently, such as God of War, Mass Effect, Tomb Raider, and Warhammer 40,000. The successive announcements of these projects demonstrate the platform’s strategic positioning of game-based content.
While official confirmation of the Wolfenstein series has not yet been given, the quality of the production team and the strong branding of the series make it highly likely that this project will be brought to the big screen.
