With every new PlayStation State of Play announcement, there’s one comment you’ll almost certainly see: ‘Is Bloodborne coming to PC?’ But while there’s no news of the game coming to PC for now, hopes have been raised with a newly developed PS4 emulator. With a new emulator called shadps4, Bloodborne was able to run on PC.
Is a PS4 emulator that can run on PC possible?
Although PS4 is a system closer to PC with its hardware structure and processor, a stable PS4 emulator has not been developed for years. Today, almost all PS3 games can be played with the emulator named RPCS3, but developments on PS4 games are quite slow. However, the bad luck of PS4 games seems to be overcome with shadps4…
The Twitter account of PS4 emulator shadps4 shared images of Bloodborne running on PC for the first time. However, when we say ‘running’, we should add that the game is not currently playable. As you can see from the video, the game gets up to the character creation screen, but after that, graphical degradation is noticeable and there is no continuity.
The maker of the emulator admits that they are at the very beginning of their development process and that they have a long way to go. While this development raises hopes for an official PC release, it also shows the efforts of the emulator community.
As discussions and expectations continue about Bloodborne coming to PC, gamers continue to look for alternatives. For now, it looks like PlayStation owners will continue to play the game on the original platform. As a matter of fact, neither the PC version nor the long-awaited sequel for Bloodborne has been announced yet.
