Qualcomm and Advantech announced a strategic partnership for next-generation IoT solutions focused on AI at Computex 2025 in Taiwan. This partnership makes Advantech an official partner in Qualcomm’s IoT ecosystem.
Qualcomm and Advantech bring intelligence to IoT
Qualcomm’s advanced technologies are being integrated into Advantech’s edge computing and AI platforms, which are expected to enable faster deployment of intelligent solutions across industries. The company also introduced the Qualcomm Dragonwing portfolio earlier this year, offering ultra-low latency and high-performance AI solutions at the edge.

Advantech has implemented this technology family in different hardware form factors and product groups. Within the scope of the collaboration, the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 processor was chosen for embedded modules, smart panels and AI cameras; and the Dragonwing IQ8 and IQ9 platforms were chosen for Edge AI systems and robotic controllers.
Advantech offers these platforms in a scalable structure for use in areas such as robotics, smart manufacturing, healthcare technologies, retail solutions, and city infrastructure. To power solutions for developers, Qualcomm and Advantech are creating a dedicated software toolchain for edge AI applications.
In the process, enabling platforms such as Qualcomm’s Edge Impulse and Foundries.io are being integrated with Advantech’s EdgeAI SDK, providing developers with a comprehensive model library along with no-code and low-code model training tools. This infrastructure enables developers to bring their products to market faster and scale intelligent solutions running at the edge more efficiently.
Nakul Duggal, General Manager of Qualcomm’s Automotive, Industrial and Embedded IoT business, said they are pleased to see their partnership with Advantech deepen. Duggal said that Qualcomm’s advanced AI and connectivity technologies, combined with Advantech’s robust edge computing infrastructure, will enable different industries to fully leverage the potential of autonomous systems.
Miller Chang, Head of Embedded Systems at Advantech, said that thanks to this collaboration with Qualcomm, they have enabled the spread of next-generation artificial intelligence solutions to more areas with the Dragonwing platform and EdgeAI SDK. Chang emphasized that this step taken in edge intelligence technologies paves the way for innovation in many sectors.
