Qualcomm has officially entered the Windows laptop world with the launch of the Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors. The new Arm-based processors will power many Windows models starting later this year. Here are the Snapdragon X Elite and Plus specifications.
Snapdragon X Elite and Plus specifications
The flagship X Elite comes in three different models: X1E-84-100, X1E-80-100 and X1E-78-100. All three are built on a 4nm architecture and feature a 12-core CPU with speeds of up to 4.2 GHz. Qualcomm also promises 45 TOPS AI engines and GPU performance ranging from 3.8-4.6 TFLOPS.
Below the X Elite models is the Snapdragon X Plus. The X Plus is aimed more at the budget-friendly and performance-oriented PC segment. It features a 10-core CPU with speeds up to 3.4 GHz. It also features a 45 TOPS AI engine, similar to the X Elite.
In the benchmark results shared by Qualcomm, X Plus managed to score 12,905 points in Geekbench and 852 points in Cinebench’s multi-threaded tests. This means it is more powerful than the Apple M1 chipset.
Qualcomm also promises big gains in efficiency compared to Intel and AMD. It revealed that the X Plus delivers 37 percent faster CPU performance at the same power consumption. Both chips bring 5G connectivity to laptops.
