Popular streaming platform Twitch has made a significant decision that directly affects streamers. Starting April 19, content creators will be limited to 100 hours of total highlights and uploads on their channel. If a channel exceeds this limit, the least-watched content will be automatically deleted. Here are the details!
100-Hour Limit for Twitch Highlights
Twitch explained two main reasons behind this decision:
- Low Engagement – Highlights are not generating the expected level of views and interaction.
- Storage Costs – The company aims to reduce high storage expenses.

According to Twitch, this new restriction will only affect 0.5% of active channels.
This limit will not apply to past broadcasts (VODs) or clips. However, many content creators have criticized the move, arguing that Twitch, owned by Amazon, has vast cloud storage resources and should not impose such restrictions.
Streamers who have more than 100 hours of highlights or uploads should download or export their content to avoid losing it, as suggested by Twitch.
Interestingly, Twitch isn’t the only company cutting back on storage—Facebook recently announced it would start deleting older live streams as well.
