Xiaomi SU7 and SU7 Max specifications leaked in China
Important details about Xiaomi’s first electric car have emerged. The technology giant applied for a sales license in China for the car models to be introduced as the SU7 series. In these applications, the features and designs of the vehicles were seen.
License files from China show that Xiaomi is developing two main models. The two vehicles, to be called SU7 and SU7 Max, will be put into mass production by Beijing-based automaker BAIC Group.
Xiaomi SU7’s empty weight will be 1980 kg, while it is expected to reach a speed of 210 km/h. It is 4,997mm long, 1,963mm wide and 1,455mm high. Powertrain options include a single 220kW rear engine or a dual engine setup with 275kW at the front and 220kW at the rear.
The SU7 Max will weigh 2205 kg, but can reach a higher top speed of 265 km/h. Xiaomi is also working on a more powerful “Pro” version of the SU7, but no official application for a sales license has been made.
One of Xiaomi’s main focus points for the electric vehicle is on the software side. Accordingly, the SU7 series will be offered with HyperOS, which will unify all of the company’s products. The files revealed that Xiaomi is developing an automobile by leveraging its smartphone expertise.
