As Redmi prepares for the October 23rd China launch of its flagship K90 series, explosive news has emerged regarding the Turbo, its performance-focused mid-range series. Reliable leakster Smart Pikachu shared a post on Weibo, revealing not only some key specifications of the Redmi Turbo 5 but also claiming the device will launch much earlier than expected.
Turbo 5 Release Date Accelerated, Pointing to November
Previous leaks suggested the Redmi Turbo 5 would be unveiled in the first quarter of 2026. However, according to Smart Pikachu, Redmi is pushing the launch forward to seize the first-mover advantage. Considering that its predecessor, the Redmi Turbo 4, was unveiled in January, the new model is expected to be unveiled in November. Further supporting this early arrival claim is the fact that the Turbo 5 has already received radio certification in China.

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with ambitious features that strike a balance between the mid-range and high-end segments. The phone is expected to come with a brand-new MediaTek Dimensity chip, described as the flagship platform for the mid-range segment. The leaker is believed to be pointing to the Dimensity 8500 Ultra. This chip will also power rivals like the Oppo Reno 15 Pro, Honor Power 2, and Realme Neo 8.
It will feature a simple camera module design and a metal mid-frame. Unlike the previous generation, it will feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, a faster and more reliable version of the in-display fingerprint reader.
There’s another feature that has been revealed in previous leaks that will make the Turbo 5 unique in its segment. The device is expected to pack a massive battery, estimated at 9,000mAh+, larger than the previous generation. It will support 100W fast charging to power this massive battery. The phone will also feature full waterproofing, meaning it will be IP68/69 certified for dust and water resistance.
The Turbo 5 is expected to feature a flat OLED LTPS panel with a 1.5K resolution and large, rounded corners. The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, the next-generation model in the Redmi Turbo series, is expected to launch later, likely in the first half of 2026.
The Redmi Turbo 4 is known to have been rebranded as the Poco X7 Pro in the global market. Therefore, the Poco X8 Pro, which has already received European EEC certification, is likely to be a rebranded global version of the Turbo 5.
