The Harry Potter series appeals to a huge audience with both books and movies. The books written by J. K. Rowling have been in the process of being turned into a series for a while. The broadcast date was shared for the Harry Potter series produced by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Harry Potter series will air on Max in 2026
Warner Bros. Discovery has given a date for the Harry Potter series. It announced that the production, which will be adapted from the book series, will air on Max in 2026. CEO David Zaslav said they are excited to bring the beloved wizarding world to the digital world.
It should be noted that the Max platform is not active in Turkey. However, Warner Bros. has been working for a while to open its digital platform to Turkey. We should not forget the possibility of the series being broadcast on a different platform in Turkey.
CEO Zaslav said, “We are very excited about Harry Potter. The last movie was made more than a dozen years ago. We want to introduce a new generation to the magic of Harry Potter with an ambitious television adaptation.”
The series adaptation, which is known to be multi-season, has been in development since 2021. The production, which will be based on J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series, is being carried out under Rowling’s consultancy. Channing Dungey is also in the director’s chair. HBO/Max President Casey Bloys is executive producer.
It was stated that a completely new cast will be provided to portray beloved characters such as Harry, Ron and Hermione. So iconic names like Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are not expected to be in the series.
CEO Zaslav said that the new adaptation will allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the wizarding world. He said they are aiming for a 2026 debut and will “thrill fans around the world”.
