The release date and pricing information for the ROG Xbox Ally handheld consoles developed jointly by Microsoft and Asus have been revealed. The devices, which were announced at the Xbox Showcase event and introduced only with the phrase “within the year”, are expected to enter the European market in October.

According to the latest information, the pre-order period will begin in August. The pricing was stated as 599 euros for the ROG Xbox Ally and 899 euros for the more powerful version Ally X. The new devices represent an important step in Microsoft’s mobile gaming strategy.

The standard Xbox Ally model with a white casing has an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor and 512 GB of storage. The Xbox Ally X with a black casing is equipped with a more powerful AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and 1 TB of storage.
Both models use a 7-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. However, an OLED panel was not preferred. There is a significant difference between the two models in terms of battery capacity.
Xbox Ally has a 60Wh battery, while Ally X has an 80Wh battery. This difference is also evident in terms of portability. Xbox Ally weighs 670 grams, while Xbox Ally X weighs 715 grams.
The ROG Xbox Ally series provides access not only to the Xbox Game Pass library, but also to platforms such as Steam, GOG and Ubisoft Connect. With its new devices, Microsoft will offer more flexible and portable access not only to the console market but also to PC games.
