Bad news for gamers and content creators. Nvidia RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards will be released at much higher prices than expected. The reason behind this situation will be the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on products imported from China.

US retail company Newegg said in a statement that the production of RTX 50 series graphics cards largely takes place in China and is affected by the 10 per cent tariff. Increased costs will be reflected directly on the customer, causing an increase in the prices of graphics cards.

Manufacturers such as MSI and ASUS chose to announce price increases for RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 models in advance. Newegg confirmed that these increases are a result of the Trump administration’s trade policies.

Looking to the future, it is possible to say that high graphics card prices may continue for a while. Manufacturers such as ASRock are considering options to shift production to countries such as Vietnam and Taiwan. However, the process of moving production facilities may take several years.

The only hope for users is that manufacturers will take on some of the increased costs to reduce the impact of price increases. However, given the problems in graphics card stocks, such concessions are considered unlikely.
