At NVIDIA Editor’s Day 2025, NVIDIA revealed the details of the cooling system for its new RTX 50 series Founders Edition graphics cards. Apparently, the new cooling solution has been ingeniously re-engineered to provide both a compact design and high-end performance. Details…
NVIDIA reveals details of the RTX 50 series’ next-generation cooling system with dual fans and 600W cooling capacity
The Founders Edition models of the RTX 50 series offer both a more compact and more efficient cooling system than past designs:
- Dual fan design: One fan is located on the front of the card and the other on the back.
- Dual slot design: Slimmer and compliant with the Small Form Factor (SFF) chassis standard.
- Thermal capacity up to 600W: Effective cooling despite high power consumption.
3D vacuum technology and heat management
Obviously, the RTX 20 and RTX 30/40 series had noise levels as high as 50 dBA under 300-400W TDP. The new design of the RTX 50 series has significantly improved the user experience by reducing this level to 30-35 dBA even at 600W. The new cooling system reportedly features NVIDIA’s most advanced technology to date:
- 3D Vacuum Chamber technology: Rapidly conducts heat from the GPU, memory and power modules.
- Five large heat pipes: Moves heat to three separate groups of aluminum fins.
- Quiet performance: It delivers a low noise level of 30-35 dBA, even at 600W power consumption. This is much lower than the 50 dBA of the RTX 30 and 40 series.
In short, NVIDIA’s new RTX series has done a great job in both thermal management and silence. How much do you think this new cooling design will affect the user experience? Let us know in the comments section below…
