Samsung has officially announced its highly anticipated new 60TB SSD model (PM1743), adding to its lineup of memory and storage chips. Samsung plans to make significant progress in storage technology with this new product.
Samsung PM174 SSD sales price is around 7 thousand dollars
The Samsung PM1743 is an enterprise-oriented product and will technically have a capacity of 61.44TB. This means Samsung has almost doubled the capacity of its SSD, which was previously limited to 32TB.
Developed by Samsung to take on competitors such as Solidigm and Western Digital that produce high-capacity SSDs, the PM1743 will feature 176 layers of 7th Generation V-NAND (3D NAND) QLC memory. It will deliver 7.2 GB/sec sequential read speed and up to 2.0 GB/sec sequential write speed.
The PM1743 will be available in U.2 and PCIe 4.0 x4 form factors. There will also be an E3.S version with a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface for high storage density machines.
Samsung has not yet made a clear statement on the price of the SSD. However, it is known that 60 TB capacity models of competitors such as Micron, SK Hynix and Kioxia are sold around 7 thousand dollars. If this pricing continues, the price of the product is expected to be around 230 thousand TL.
This new generation SSD announced by Samsung is seen as an important development for data centers and large-scale enterprise applications. So what do you think about this new product? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us in the comments section and on our social media accounts.
