Galaxy S24 might be powered by Samsung Exynos 2400 in some regions
If you remember, some tipsters have been waiting for Samsung to announce the next-generation Exynos processors for a long time. The earlier rumors claimed that the tech giant could launch the Exynos 2400 processor in the Galaxy S24 lineup in Africa, Europe, and parts of Asia, as it did on the predecessors with different chipsets. On the other side, the Galaxy S24 series will probably be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in China, South Korea, and the US.
Now, a report from China revealed the specs of the Exynos 2400 processor. The report claim that the upcoming chipset is built as an enhanced version of Samsung Foundry’s 4nm fabrication process. Also, the Exynos 2400 has a 10-core CPU, including one 3.1GHz Cortex-X4 CPU, two 2.9GHz Cortex-A720 CPU, three 2.6GHz Cortex-A720 CPU, and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A520 CPU cores.
Compared with the phone’s other version, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be equipped with an octa-core CPU with one Cortex-X4 CPU, five Cortex-A720 CPU cores, and two Cortex-A520 CPU cores. Additionally, the upcoming Exynos chipset will be compatible only with 64-bit apps, UFS 4.0 storage, and LPDDR5X RAM with a bandwidth of 8.5Gbps.
In terms of GPU, the Samsung Exynos 2400 will feature the Xclipse 940 GPU with 2x the GPU cores, and it has six WGPs. It means that the expected processor’s Xclipse 940 GPU will have 12 GPU cores, which is twice the graphics performance compared to the Exynos 2200. Furthermore, the Exynos 2400 is expected to feature two-way satellite connectivity for emergency calling and messaging.
