Samsung has surprisingly suspended the One UI 8 update, released last month for the Galaxy S23 series. The distribution of this version, which was also available to users in Turkey, was paused for an unknown reason. The company has not yet made an official statement regarding the reason behind the decision.
Why was the One UI 8 update paused?
While there has been no official statement from Samsung, the decision is believed to have been made due to a suspected technical incompatibility. Although there have been no serious bug reports from users, it is believed the company has suspended the process as a precautionary measure. Therefore, users who have not yet installed One UI 8 will have to wait.

The paused Android 16-based update was approximately 3.3 GB in size. This package, available for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models, included the September 2025 security patch. It also included new Galaxy AI features and improvements to the DeX interface. It also introduced significant innovations such as lock screen customizations. These innovations were among the key updates introduced by One UI 8.
Samsung is expected to re-release the update after fixing the suspected technical issue. However, a specific date for when the One UI 8 update will return to the Galaxy S23 series hasn’t been released yet. We’ll be closely monitoring developments.
