Following Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset unveiling last month, details have emerged about its next smart glasses. The company’s first XR glasses are identified with the model number SM-O200P.

The “O” in this model number indicates that the device will be a separate device, not a headset (the XR title used an “I”). The product is expected to be released under the brand name Galaxy Glasses, which the company previously trademarked.
Samsung’s first smart glasses are expected to have a similar design to the smart glasses Meta produced in collaboration with Ray-Ban. Previous rumors suggested that Samsung would first introduce a screenless model in 2026, followed by a screened version in 2027.

According to the device’s alleged features, the first model will feature Transitions lenses. These lenses will automatically darken when exposed to sunlight and then clear again when indoors. Because Transitions is a registered trademark of EssilorLuxottica, which also owns Ray-Ban, there’s been some speculation about whether Samsung will use their lenses or opt for similar photographic lenses.
Just like Meta’s Ray-Ban sunglasses, Samsung’s model will feature a camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. However, Samsung’s sunglasses will also offer mobile data connectivity, which Meta’s products lack. This mobile data support is a key feature that will significantly enhance the device’s standalone usability.
