Samsung is building a special OLED line for MacBook
Samsung has started production for Apple’s first OLED MacBook models, according to new reports from Korea. Samsung has set up a new production line focused on supplying OLED displays. This production line will work exclusively for Apple.

Apple has plans to switch from LCD and mini-LED displays to OLED on its MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptop lines over the next few years. The first MacBook models to adopt OLED are expected to be the 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2025.
Other OLED MacBook models to be announced in 2026 include the 14-inch MacBook Pro, 13 and 15-inch MacBook Air. By 2027, even the standard 12.9-inch iPad Air is expected to adopt the technology.
Building a dedicated OLED factory shows Samsung’s commitment to a supply deal with Apple. OLED panels offer higher brightness, contrast and thinner design than current LCD technology. It is also better than LCD in terms of energy efficiency.
