Samsung continues to work on the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update. Performance tests seen on the Galaxy S25 model revealed that the new version provides a significant speed increase. It was found that One UI 8.0 offers up to a 30% increase in single-core performance compared to the previous version, One UI 7.0.
Samsung promises performance increase with One UI 8.0
The Galaxy S25, introduced in January, was seen in Geekbench tests with the model number SM-S931B. In the comparisons made, it was seen that the device running One UI 7.0 received 2,314 points in the single-core test, while the same device reached 3,057 points with One UI 8.0. A similar increase was recorded in the multi-core test. The device, which received 9,158 points with One UI 7.0, increased to 9,909 points with One UI 8.0.

The reasons behind this increase in performance are not yet clear. However, it is thought that Samsung may have allocated more resources to the processor and graphics unit by making interface optimizations and background processes more efficient. As the update spreads to more devices, the impact of performance improvements on daily use will become clearer.
Although there is no clear statement on the release date of One UI 8.0, it is expected that the update will be available to users shortly after Google releases Android 16.
