Sanction Scanner Rebrands as Complead to Accelerate Global Expansion

Istanbul-based regtech firm Sanction Scanner rebrands to Complead, expanding its AI-driven compliance and fraud prevention infrastructure to the U.S. market.

Sanction Scanner, a prominent Istanbul-based regtech firm, officially announced its rebranding to Complead today, marking a significant evolution in its global growth strategy. Since its inception six years ago, the company has transformed from a specialized sanction screening software provider into an AI-native infrastructure platform designed to combat complex financial crimes. Operating in over 80 countries, the company now supports more than 800 corporate clients, including global giants like the United Nations, Zurich, and Stellantis, as well as major Turkish enterprises. This rebranding initiative reflects the company’s shift toward offering a comprehensive suite of risk, compliance, and fraud prevention solutions.

    • The company rebranded as Complead to represent its transition into an integrated AI-driven financial crime prevention platform.
    • The firm serves over 800 corporate clients across 80 different countries with its advanced compliance infrastructure.
    • A new regional office in New York marks the official expansion of the company’s operations into the United States market.
    • New AI-driven technology reduces false positive alerts by 97 percent while automating 77 percent of routine compliance tasks.

The Company Outgrew Its Initial Identity

Fatih Coşkun, the founder and CEO of Complead, explained that the decision to change the brand name stems from the company’s rapid technological advancement. While the original name accurately reflected the core business of screening sanction lists in the company’s early years, the current product offering has expanded significantly. Today, the platform performs real-time transaction monitoring, identifies fraud patterns, verifies ultimate beneficial ownership, and generates regulatory filings.

Coşkun noted that the original name was merely a snapshot of the business at a specific point in time, whereas the company has now moved far beyond that scope. By integrating artificial intelligence into its core, the platform provides a holistic approach to compliance that covers the entire lifecycle of a customer relationship from onboarding to ongoing monitoring.

New York Serves as the Hub for American Operations

Building on its existing presence in London, the firm has established a new legal entity and a dedicated local team in New York. This move is intended to strengthen its foothold in the United States, where the demand for modern, efficient compliance solutions is growing rapidly. Having already worked with major American organizations like APMEX and Hometap, the firm is well-positioned to address the complex regulatory environment faced by U.S.-based financial institutions and fintech companies.

The CEO highlighted that the U.S. market currently holds the largest share of global spending on financial crime compliance. Many firms in this region continue to rely on outdated, expensive, and rigid legacy systems. Complead aims to solve the conflict between executive efficiency mandates and the strict explainability requirements set by regulators.

Artificial Intelligence Defines the New Standard for Compliance

The company is moving away from traditional rule-based software, which it considers to be increasingly obsolete. By utilizing proprietary AI agents and a unique fusion architecture, the platform automatically resolves 77 percent of routine compliance cases. This efficiency is paired with a significant reduction in false positives, which have decreased by 97 percent, allowing compliance teams to focus on high-risk activities.

Crucially, the system ensures that every decision made during the auditing process remains fully explainable and defensible. While the brand name has changed, current customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service without the need for contract amendments or infrastructure migrations. The company intends to redefine the global standards for financial crime prevention rather than simply offering an alternative to existing tools.
