The new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25967 update has been released. This is how we said goodbye to Cortana, the personal assistant that was certain to leave us two months ago. The application, which enabled Microsoft to step into the personal assistant market, has already expired. Apart from this farewell, the new Windows 11 update is here with the new settings application.
Windows 11 25967 update and new settings app
Microsoft is finally getting a new settings interface with Windows 11. The new settings interface of Windows 11, which has become much more functional, gathers certain settings in one place.
Accordingly, some cards appear in the settings menu. Different cards such as screen settings, cloud storage used, desktop personalization options come to the settings screen.
On the left side, there are many settings that we know from the control panel. In this sense, the settings app seems to have become even more useful with the new Windows 11 update.
Important tools like the Xbox Game bar will now be available under the Games tab on the left side. Microsoft is also looking to offer the ability to change these cards in this new settings app.
In this sense, with the new update, it will be possible to change the recommended settings cards on this settings page. However, instead of rearranging them, users will have the opportunity to change the location of these cards by swiping. Although this feature is still in the testing phase, it is likely to appear.
To find the answer to this question, we need to go back to 2014. At that time, Microsoft intended to start a new era in the smartphone world with Windows Phone. Cortana personal assistant appeared as a rival to Siri and Google Assistant. The assistant, which was also successful in the first period, was activated in the entire Windows ecosystem at the same time.
However, after the failure of the Windows Phone project, Cortana became one of the applications that are not used much on computers that only use Windows. Microsoft pulled the plug on Cortana when Bing fulfilled this function with artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT. In short, Windows may have waited a long time for Cortana, which reminds us of the failed days.
