Initially developed by Google for all Android devices, monthly security updates are first rolled out to compatible Pixel devices. Afterward, companies like Samsung integrate these updates into their devices. As we near the end of September, Samsung has started rolling out the September 2024 security update to more phones. Here are the newly updated devices…
Samsung’s September 2024 update released for Galaxy A54, A53, and more
Samsung publishes Google’s updates monthly for Galaxy devices. According to official statements, the September 2024 security update has been released to fix 67 security vulnerabilities. Of these, 44 were addressed by Google for all Android devices, while 23 are specific to Samsung devices. One of these is marked as critical, and 32 are high-priority vulnerabilities affecting OneUI’s systems, including Dex, Knox, Theme Center, and other apps.
The Galaxy A54 is receiving the new security package with firmware version A546BXXS9CXH7, currently available in Europe but expected to roll out to other regions soon. Since the update focuses solely on security, no new features are included.
The other A-series device receiving the update is the Galaxy A53, with firmware version A536BXXSBEXH3, also currently available in Europe. In addition, the Galaxy S22 series (including the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra) is receiving the update with firmware version S90xEXXUAEXH7, which comes with a file size of 2.8GB.
Since updates are rolled out at different times across regions, your phone may not have received it yet. To check for updates, go to Settings, then Software Update, and tap Download and Install. What are your thoughts on this update? Feel free to share them in the comments!
