Seven-seat Tesla Model Y enters production in China: Coming to Europe too!
Currently, only the five-seat Model Y versions are being built at Tesla’s Giga Shanghai and Giga Berlin factories. However, a seven-seat option is available for the Long Range Dual Motor All Wheel Drive (AWD) version built in the United States, which can be purchased for an additional $2,000.
According to the National Business Daily newspaper in China, the seven-seater Model Y has received the necessary certifications for its entry into the European market. However, this information is accompanied by some skepticism. According to Shanghai Securities News, a Tesla source claimed that this information was false. Although there is still uncertainty at the moment, the certifications are seen as strong evidence that the vehicle will come to Europe.
The seven-seat Model Y is said to be 45kg heavier than the five-seat version , and will provide a 70kg increase in passenger carrying capacity. This new model will appeal especially to large families. The third-row seats may be tight for adults, but they are ideal for children.
