Severance, one of Apple TV+’s most-watched productions, has attracted great interest from viewers with its recently completed second season. While it was a matter of curiosity whether the series would get a new season, Apple made an official statement and announced that Severance’s third season had been approved.
Severance is coming with its third season
The beloved series has become Apple TV+’s most-watched series to date, leaving behind productions such as Foundation, Silo and Ted Lasso. The success of the production, which received positive reviews from both critics and viewers, strengthened expectations for a third season. With Apple’s official approval, it was also certain that the series would continue.

Director Ben Stiller stated in a statement he made earlier in the year that preparations for the third season had begun. In his latest statement, Stiller said that this time the new season would not keep viewers waiting too long. Viewers had to wait more than two and a half years for the series’ second season, but the third season is planned to be released much sooner.
Created by Dan Erickson, Severance is set in a company called Lumon Industries, where people use a controversial technology to split their consciousness in two, creating a sharp boundary between their work and private lives. This technology allows employees to remember nothing about their private lives while at work, and to completely forget what happened in the office when they leave. However, this situation brings with it many ethical and existential issues.
