Share files anywhere with Nearby Share’s new QR code support

Google is testing QR code support for Nearby Share, enabling easy file sharing by scanning QR codes. The feature is not yet available.

Google is testing a useful feature for Nearby Share, the app that allows Android devices to easily share files. According to recent reports, the software giant will be adding QR code support to Nearby Share. This will make it possible to share files or links by scanning a QR code.

Nearby Share gets QR code support

The feature, which will be offered under Nearby Share, will make it possible to share files in seconds. Thanks to QR code support, a QR code button will appear in the dialogue box. Tap the button to create a QR code that can be scanned using Google Lens. Once the code is scanned, file transfer will begin.

The new QR code support is not yet available to users. However, the recent discovery in the Google Play Services application shows that work is actively continuing.

The QR code sharing feature is attracting a lot of attention as it will make it easier to share files with people who are not near you. It should be noted that this feature is currently only used to share files with devices in Bluetooth coverage. The QR code feature seems to allow Android users to share files with people far away.

When using Nearby Share technology, there is a window where you can drag files to send or receive files to other devices. You can easily share files on your computer or phone by dragging them to the window that opens.

Google has also recently announced Android 14 Beta 4. Beta 4 is expected to be the last major release before the stable release of Android 14. The company plans to release the stable version of Android 14 in August.
