Copilot Plus PCs Introduced at Microsoft Surface Event
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella introduced a new category of computers called Copilot Plus, saying, “We are bringing the AI wave to PCs.” These devices, powered by Qualcomm’s ARM-based Snapdragon X Elite and Plus processors, are designed to support AI features. According to Microsoft, these new devices are 58% faster than the M3 MacBook Air. Additionally, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, Asus, and HP are also releasing these new Copilot Plus devices.
Recall Feature
We met one of the coolest AI features in the new Copilot Plus PCs, called Recall. This tool records everything you do on your computer, allowing you to find these contents later. So, remembering a conversation you had on Discord or a specific PowerPoint slide you worked on is now very easy.
New Copilot Integrations in Windows 11
Microsoft is bringing Copilot to more areas of Windows 11. The AI assistant can offer suggestions in the Settings menu, organize files in File Explorer, or write responses to notifications you receive. Additionally, Copilot can now answer questions based on what you see on your screen using OpenAI’s new GPT-4o model.
Power Boost and OLED Screen Option for Microsoft Surface Pro
Microsoft’s new Surface Pro uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips instead of the Intel Core Ultra processor in the old model. This new model is 90% faster than the previous Surface Pro. Additionally, an OLED screen option is offered for the first time. The 13-inch Surface Pro will be available starting at $999.99 and will come in blue, beige, black, and platinum color options.
New Surface Laptop Faster Than MacBook Air
Microsoft also introduced its new Surface Laptop. This device also includes AI-powered Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips. The redesigned laptop features thinner bezels and a haptic touchpad. Microsoft claims this device is 80% faster than the previous generation and offers up to 22 hours of local video playback. The Surface Laptop 6 comes in 13.8 and 15-inch screen options and will be available starting at $999.99.
Adobe, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, and More Coming to Copilot Plus PCs
Microsoft is collaborating with companies like Adobe to optimize their applications for Copilot Plus PCs. Native Arm64 versions of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Firefly, and Express will be available from today. Additionally, Illustrator and Premiere Pro will come in the summer. Applications like DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Cephable, LiquidText, and Djay Pro will also benefit from AI features.
