The Sims 4 is finally bringing a feature that players have been waiting for for many years. EA has announced that the new Sims 4 expansion, Lovestruck, will add polygamy, one of the community’s most requested romance features, to the game in a free update. This is a first for the Sims series.
Sims 4 brings polygamy with a free update
Next month is going to be very exciting for Sims players. EA’s hottest expansion ever, Lovestruck, is coming to The Sims 4. But even more importantly, the game will officially support polygamous relationships.
“The new Romantic Boundaries system will be available for free to all players and will allow Sims to customize their physical and emotional romantic attributes in romantic relationships. This will allow Sims to date multiple Sims without affecting other relationships.”
In previous Sims games, such relationships were not officially supported and players had to deal with negative emotions such as jealousy. According to EA, mods will no longer be needed to manage such relationship dynamics. The news caused a huge stir among the Sims community.
There’s also big news for console and PC players
Now everyone can enjoy open relationships and polyamory with their Sims, whether playing on PC or console. The free update will be available this summer, and the patch will arrive in Sims 4 at the same time as the Lovestruck expansion is released on July 25th.
This will come as a huge relief to longtime players. It took 24 years for this relationship dynamic to appear in the Sims series. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
