Skechers has officially taken the use of AirTags to a whole new level with its new line of sneakers designed for child safety. These shoes, sold under the name Find My Skechers, feature a hidden compartment specifically designed for Apple’s AirTag location tracking device. The new line was developed specifically for parents to keep track of their children.
Skechers announces shoes with hidden AirTag compartment
AirTags are a device commonly used to track valuable items such as luggage and wallets. By integrating this technology into children’s shoes, Skechers allows parents to easily track their children’s location via their iPhone.
When the insole and fabric lining of the shoe are removed, a plastic slot embedded in the cushioned midsole is revealed. This slot secures the AirTag without interfering with wireless communication. The AirTags are completely hidden from view and do not affect the child’s comfort.
The shoes are machine washable. The series is available in sizes suitable for children up to 10 years old. The products, available in a variety of colors and styles, are priced around $60. The Apple AirTag is not included. The company’s advertising highlights the shoe’s secure, smart, and hidden compartment, which is invisible to children.
Find My Skechers is launching as a new child safety solution, expanding the use of AirTag in personal belonging tracking. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
