Qualcomm has quietly announced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, its latest mobile platform for the affordable smartphone segment. The new chipset is designed to significantly improve performance, connectivity, and camera capabilities in budget Android phones. Details indicate a major step forward for the Snapdragon 6 series. Here are the details.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Features, 4nm Manufacturing Process Brings Power
For the first time in its lineup, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is manufactured using the 4nm manufacturing process, typically seen only in high-end chips. This technological shift results in better power efficiency and faster speeds. According to Qualcomm, the new platform delivers up to 36% higher CPU performance and up to 59% faster GPU performance compared to older 6nm-based models.

The chip features eight Kryo cores. Four of these cores are configured as performance cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, while the other four are configured as efficiency cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz. This arrangement promises smoother multitasking, faster app launch times, and improved gaming responsiveness.
The new chipset supports Full HD+ displays with up to 144 Hz refresh rates, enhancing visuals while gaming or navigating. It also integrates Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Variable Rate Shading and Game Quick Touch, reducing input lag and rendering times.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 also brings significant improvements to the imaging side. The chip can support sensors up to 200 megapixels and 2K video recording. Qualcomm’s hardware-level Multi-Frame Noise Reduction technology helps deliver sharper, clearer images, even in low-light conditions.
Connectivity improvements include support for 5G Release 16, Wi-Fi 6E with speeds up to 2.9Gbps, and Bluetooth 5.4. While Qualcomm hasn’t yet announced which brands will launch devices with this chip first, companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Motorola are expected to use it in their upcoming models.
