A report on Weibo revealed the cost of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Accordingly, the cost of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, one of the most powerful processors in the market, is 25 percent more than its predecessor and is around 200 dollars.
When we look at the shared image, the Snapdragon 835, the flagship chip of the period, which debuted in 2016, has a cost of 42 dollars. Of course, these prices increase year by year and today they are up to 200 dollars.
Qualcomm continues to cooperate with TSMC for its new processor. Produced with 4 nm technology, the processor has 1 3.3 GHz ARM Cortex-X4, 3 3.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A720, 2 3.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A720 and 2 2.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A520 cores. The company includes Adreno 750 graphics unit with Ray Tracing support in its new chip.
The new processor provides a 30 percent performance increase compared to its predecessor. There is a 20 percent increase in energy efficiency. On the other hand, we see 25 percent faster image processing and 25 percent more energy efficiency on the graphics side. Moreover, it offers 40 percent better Ray Tracing performance.
The new processor will support 60 Hz at 4K resolution. However, it will be able to offer a refresh rate of 144 Hz on QHD+ displays. The hardware will also offer a quality user experience on the camera side. Because here we come across 200 Megapixel support. Moreover, users will be able to record 30 FPS videos in 8K HDR settings. To improve camera performance, the processor has a hardware artificial intelligence feature. Finally, there is support for up to 24 GB of 4800 MHz LPDDR5X RAM.
