Qualcomm, one of the world’s largest mobile processor manufacturers, officially entered this market by introducing its first laptop processor Snapdragon X Elite in October 2023. This ARM-based processor managed to attract the attention of users with its features. Finally, Snapdragon X Elite appeared in the Geekbench performance test for the second time.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite in Geekbench database
Snapdragon X Elite is manufactured using TSMC’s 4-nanometer technology. The semiconductor giant says its first processor offers twice the performance of Intel 13th generation Core i7-1360P and i7-1355U models.
While the processor’s base clock speed is 3.8 GHz, it can increase up to 4.3 GHz when dual cores are used. The Snapdragon X Elite, which is also an advanced chipset in terms of artificial intelligence, puts Qualcomm in competition with the biggest processor manufacturers Apple, Intel and AMD. The latest performance test also shows this.
The Snapdragon X Elite was put to the performance test in a laptop manufactured by LENOVO. The device scored 2,427 and 14,254 points in single- and multi-core tests, respectively, running on a “Balanced” power plan. Qualcomm’s first PC processor scored 1,628 and 11,392 in a test conducted in recent weeks. In this context, it is possible to say that performance has improved significantly since then.
The reasons behind this performance boost are unknown. However, there are speculations that the processor may have been further optimized for laptops or that the tested device may have an improved cooling system.
Snapdragon X Elite will power models from laptop manufacturers such as HP, Dell, LENOVO, Acer and ASUS. According to the information, the first computer using Snapdragon X Elite will be the Galaxy Book 4 Edge model to be released by Samsung in the near future.
