Elecom has launched a new era in portable energy storage by introducing the world’s first sodium-ion power bank. This 9,000 mAh power bank, called Na+ Sodium-Ion Mobile Battery, offers a safer, more environmentally friendly and more durable alternative to lithium-ion by using sodium-ion technology instead of lithium-ion. This technology will create a significant change in the portable battery market.
Sodium-ion power bank designed
Sodium-ion batteries offer a more sustainable solution compared to lithium-ion batteries. While lithium mining creates heavy metal pollution, sodium is a more abundant element, so its production is less harmful to the environment.

Sodium-ion batteries are also safer to recycle than lithium because they do not pose a risk of toxic waste. In addition, the risk of fire seen in lithium-ion batteries due to thermal runaway is much lower in sodium-ion batteries.
One of the biggest advantages of sodium-ion batteries will be their low-temperature performance. The technology, which can withstand temperatures up to -35°C, provides a great advantage especially for users living in cold climates.
In addition, while standard lithium-ion batteries offer an average of 500 charging cycles, sodium-ion batteries promise a much longer lifespan by providing durability of up to 5,000 cycles. The power bank itself is fully charged in about two hours. Weighing 350 grams and measuring 87 x 31 x 106 mm, we can say that the product has a user-friendly structure in terms of portability.
Elecom has launched this new generation power bank with a price tag of $ 68. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
