While Bloodborne fans have been waiting for an official release on PC for years, fan-made projects are being blocked by Sony one by one. Most recently, Bloodborne PSX, a project recreated in the style of PlayStation 1, was cancelled due to copyright issues.
Why is Sony being so strict?
This development once again highlights Sony’s recent harsh stance towards the Bloodborne community. Having previously blocked the popular Bloodborne 60 FPS mode, the company has now removed the Bloodborne PSX demake made by independent developer Lilith ‘B0tster’ Walther. MarkScan, the company that handles Sony’s DMCA applications, sent the fan-made project a copyright notice for digital piracy, and the game was removed from itch.io.

While developer Lilith Walther questioned why Sony is now targeting fan-made Bloodborne-related projects, it remains to be seen if these steps are a sign for the future of Bloodborne.
Sony made a reference to Bloodborne in the PlayStation 30th anniversary video last December. While this led some players to expect a new version, Sony’s recent moves have started to make fans uneasy.
Do you think Sony is blocking these projects because they don’t want Bloodborne to come to PC? Or could this be a sign of a future announcement? Don’t forget to share your opinions!
