Sony unveiled the Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7C R, two new members of the A7C series, featuring compact designs and full-frame interchangeable lenses. In addition to these cameras, Sony also introduced the G Master SEL FE 16-35MM F/2.8 GM II wide-angle zoom lens.
Sony Alpha 7C II, 7C R and GM II sensor features
The Alpha 7C II features a 33 Megapixel full-frame sensor. It comes in a compact and lightweight design and is especially designed for travel and street photography. The Alpha 7C R comes with a 61 Megapixel sensor. Both models make it possible to take high quality photos/videos on the go.
The Alpha 7C series offers support such as AI-assisted autofocus, 5-axis image stabilization, 4K 60 FPS video recording. Sony’s own S-Cinetone color profile is available for shooting cinematic-looking videos.
The new Alpha 7C family measures 12 cm wide x 7 cm high x 6 cm deep and weighs 513 grams. They are also compact, making them easy to carry and use. Sony promises high performance with the new 16-35mm F2.8 zoom lens.
With the Alpha 7C family, the GM II sensor, the smallest and lightest lens in its category, also draws attention. Measuring 111.5mm and weighing 547 grams, this sensor promises a new generation XD linear motor and advanced optical design.
Sony’s Nano AR Coating II technology blocks reflections on the lens surface, helping to ensure sharp images.
Both cameras feature a touchscreen LCD display and front dial. Sony’s cloud-based remote camera service is also available. Videos and photos can be uploaded to the cloud service and accessed from different devices.
It should be noted that Sony has not yet announced the price and when they will go on sale.
