Japanese tech giant Sony is considering a radical change in its gaming strategy. According to reports, the company has concluded that its strategy of porting PlayStation exclusives to the PC platform is not contributing to its business performance as expected. Consequently, Sony is reportedly seriously considering halting its efforts on the PC.
PlayStation games may not be coming to the PC
It is also being claimed that Sony will not implement the long-rumored “cross-buy” system. Leaked information suggests that Sony believes that because games are released on the PC too late, these versions do not significantly contribute to the company’s business results.

The company is using this as a key reason for not advancing its PC strategy. These claims suggest that the PC versions are not achieving expected sales figures.
However, Sony has no plans to withdraw from the PC market entirely. The company will continue to keep service-based titles like Helldivers 2 on the PC. It’s also been reported that upcoming service-based games like Marathon will be available on PC.
However, the future of single-player PlayStation exclusives like Ghost of Yotei is becoming uncertain. These games will either never come to PC or their release will be delayed years after PlayStation.
