SpaceX is progressing at a remarkable pace this year, rewriting space launch records. The company successfully completed its 150th Falcon 9 mission in 2025, reaching a significant milestone with the launch of 28 satellites from California on Saturday night. With this achievement, SpaceX’s active Starlink satellite count surpassed 9,000.
SpaceX completes 150th Falcon 9 mission
This launch pace represents a significant increase from the 132 Falcon 9 launches in 2024 the previous year. SpaceX completed a total of 155 launches throughout 2025. This includes 150 Falcon 9 missions and five suborbital Starship test flights. This means the company launched an average of one launch every 2.4 days throughout the year.
The first-stage booster of the Falcon 9 rocket used in the latest mission, B1080, successfully completed its ninth mission and landed successfully on the unmanned drone ship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” in the Atlantic Ocean. With this latest flight, the total number of Falcon 9 launches since 2010 has reached 568.
With the 29 satellites added to orbit this Saturday, the number of active Starlink satellites has surpassed 9,000, out of a total of more than 10,400 launched since 2019.
According to data from satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell, SpaceX has launched 109 Starlink missions in 2025 alone, placing a total of 2,814 satellites into orbit this year. For its next Starlink mission, the company aims to launch 28 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit on Sunday, November 23, from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
SpaceX announced earlier this month that it has surpassed 8 million active customers worldwide. Starlink currently offers its high-speed internet service in more than 150 countries and regions.
