Today (December 17th) is proving to be quite eventful for Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans. Immediately following the leak of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, expected to be released in theaters alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash, another surprising development occurred: the first trailer for the new Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, was leaked.
A Lonely Peter Parker and LCD Soundsystem
The leaked footage, quickly removed due to copyright issues, confirms the authenticity of the leak. The trailer opens with the melancholic song “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” by LCD Soundsystem. In the final scene of “No Way Home,” Peter Parker, having made the world forget him through Doctor Strange’s magic, is seen looking quite lonely and melancholic.

The most talked-about detail of the trailer is the appearance of Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. Appearing in a mysterious role, Sink threatens Peter Parker; He delivers a bold line along the lines of, “Don’t get in my way, or it won’t just be your friends who don’t remember who Peter Parker is,” suggesting that the character is one of the few who knows Peter’s secret.
The surprises don’t end there. The trailer shows Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, and Peter asks him for help. The biggest excitement comes when The Punisher (Frank Castle), played by Jon Bernthal, makes a brief cameo appearance with his weapons drawn. The voice of the Tombstone character is also heard.
While the images were quickly deleted, there has been no official statement from Sony or Marvel yet. It’s known that the Avengers: Doomsday trailer was included in the Avatar 3 screenings, but the schedule for Spider-Man is still unclear. These leaked images, before James Cameron’s new film’s release, could cause Marvel to change its marketing plans.
