Nintendo has rolled out Splatoon 3 update 10.1.0, now available on both Switch and Switch 2. The patch makes balance adjustments across multiplayer, tweaks weapons, and prepares for future updates that will focus even more on battle balance.
Splatoon 3 Version 10.1.0 weapon changes

Several main weapons received notable specification updates. Nintendo says these changes are designed to make each weapon’s unique traits stand out. Highlights include:
- Splash-o-matic line: Faster shots and longer flight distance, but reduced inking radius
- .52 Gal line: Sharper shot speed, but higher ink consumption
- Splat Brella line: Wider inking at the point of impact, better ally support, but closer combat is required
- Clash Blaster and Nova variants: Reduced shot scatter and larger ink spread
- Douser Dualies FF: Faster firing before and after dodge rolls
- Recycled Brella 24 line: Lower canopy durability both before and after launch
Special weapons were also tuned. The Zipcaster gained a larger explosion radius, Ink Vac can absorb more and trigger a stronger blast, and Ink Storm has a wider area of effect.
Point adjustments for specials
Nintendo also adjusted the points required to activate certain special weapons. For example, the Carbon Roller ANG-L now charges at 170 points instead of 180, while the Splat Brella and REEF-LUX 450 MIL-K require more points than before. These changes aim to keep special weapon usage balanced after the Splatlands Collection update.
What’s next for Splatoon 3
The developers confirmed that the next update after Version 10.1.0 will continue to refine multiplayer battle balance. Nintendo also teased future plans for the series: a new story-focused spin-off called Splatoon Raiders, set to launch on Switch 2 in 2026.
For now, players must download the current patch to keep playing online. With update 10.1.0, Splatoon 3 continues its steady evolution on both Switch systems.
