Spotify, long recognized as one of the most widely used music and podcast applications globally, is now preparing to introduce new features that include high-quality sound to provide a better experience for its users. Here are the details…
High-quality sound with Spotify might come at a cost
According to Bloomberg’s reports, Spotify has started working on a new premium add-on that offers a high-quality sound experience. This add-on will provide users with high-resolution sound as well as the ability to create playlists and manage their music libraries.
A source close to Spotify stated that users will be able to add HiFi sound quality to their existing plans. If this service is added to the Spotify Premium plan, it is said to cost an additional $5. Therefore, it has been on the agenda for a long time to be offered as a separate premium plan.
Spotify announced that its subscription price in the U.S. will be $11.99 following a recent increase, effective next month. In Turkey, with the price hikes in January, the Spotify Premium individual plan is priced at ₺59.99, and the student plan at ₺32.99.
While the new add-on is said to be available abroad for $16.99, it has not yet been announced what pricing policy will be determined for Turkey. Along with the new feature, users are also expected to be offered the option to create special playlists for specific events, dates, and times of the year.
Spotify initially announced that the HiFi sound feature would be available to users in 2021, but this did not happen. Therefore, new rumors have emerged over the years that Spotify has been working on this tier.
Last year, when the Spotify app was examined, codes were found indicating that the new plan could bring features such as 24-bit lossless sound, AI-generated playlists, and filtering songs in playlists based on mood.
When do you think the eagerly awaited new features will be available to users?
