STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl made a big splash with its release. Accordingly, it shattered the concurrent player records of the STALKER series on Steam. According to SteamDB data, the game peaked at 113,587 concurrent players at launch on the evening of November 20th.
This figure is more than the previous record of 2300 concurrent players held by STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, which previously held the record with 2300 concurrent players. “In the Danger Zone, the journey is as important as the destination,” said developer GSC Game World.
Since its release, STALKER 2 has received more than 8800 “very positive” reviews on Steam, with 81 percent of players saying they liked the game. However, some players have reported optimization issues and bugs and asked for updates.
STALKER 2 is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles via Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store and Epic Games Store. It is also included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
The game is also expected to be released for PlayStation 5, but will remain tied to the Xbox/PC ecosystem for some time.
