The excitement for the next installment in Rockstar Games’ record-breaking GTA series is growing by the day. Since December 2023, the company has remained silent, keeping the development process tightly under wraps. While official details are still quite limited, new updates about the game continue to emerge. Most recently, Take-Two has made a new statement regarding GTA 6.

Take-Two CEO Comments on GTA 6

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick explained why GTA 6’s release date has not yet been announced in an interview with Bloomberg. Zelnick stated that the anticipation for the game is “the biggest expectation he has ever seen for an entertainment product.” He also mentioned that the decision not to reveal the release date yet is aimed at maintaining excitement and anticipation.

The Take-Two CEO noted that while some gaming companies announce release dates years in advance, they prefer to share concrete details about their games closer to the launch window.

“We have competitors who announce release dates years in advance, but we’ve found that it’s better to release marketing materials relatively close to the launch window to create excitement and balance it with unmet expectations.”

Despite all these developments, the exact release date of the game remains unknown. As of March 2025, the only confirmed detail is that the game is set to launch in Fall 2025. It is expected that the second trailer, rumored to be released next month, will clarify details like these.
