The trailer for DC’s new Superman film has broken a huge record even though it has only been two days since its release. The new Superman film, directed and written by James Gunn, has become the most watched trailer in Warner Bros. and DC history. Gunn announced on his Twitter account that the trailer was viewed more than 250 million times on its first day and received more than 1 million social media shares.

The success of the new trailer signals a huge comeback for Superman. Not counting the Snyder Cut released in 2021, the last time Superman starred in a DC film was 2017’s Justice League.
In the intervening years, speculation about Henry Cavill’s return and the disappointment that followed raised expectations for a new Superman film. Now, this production starring David Corenswet will be released on 11 July 2025.
