Sony is allegedly planning a new PlayStation Showcase or State of Play next month. Some sources, known for providing accurate information about PlayStation, said that a new event announcement could be made by the end of August. So what will be introduced at this surprise event?
PlayStation Showcase or State of Play could be held in September
Sony has not yet confirmed that it is planning an event in September. However, the leaks coincide with claims that surfaced earlier in the summer. Accordingly, Sony has decided to elaborate on the State of Play it organized in April. The company will discuss first-party games and projects in development.
With the Tokyo Game Show scheduled for September 26-29, the PlayStation event will be held earlier. In this context, the company wants to get ahead of its competitors with a digital event focused on its own games.
The most striking claim is that Sony may introduce the PlayStation 5 Pro console. Leaked information so far pointed to a late 2024 launch for the more powerful PS5 model. This event could be the Showcase or State of Play in September.
According to leaked information, Sony is developing the PS5 Pro to include a more powerful GPU and faster memory. This will allegedly provide a 45 percent increase in game rendering speed compared to the PS5. Ray-tracing performance will be up to 3-4 times better.
Of course, it should be reminded that the event to be held in September has not yet been officially announced. Let’s see what plans Sony has, we will see in time.
